Nice post Madman. This looks interesting. I can't make any judgements yet. Edit: Actually I will make a judgement. This is from the same director of Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow and others. Clearly he loves his disaster films. My judgement is that based on those films it could either be great or shit. Hahaha. Day After, Independence and Patriot were good to great but I can't say the same for the others.

The movie looks good...but I can see myself getting really annoyed at people that "know" something because they saw this movie.

i just think a disaster movie is a pussy (even if somewhat fun) way to approach 2012. if the director had any balls at all he'd look into the deeper side of it - like the crazy cosmic shit with the mayans and whatnot. i love movies that make my head spin, this looks like day after tomorrow two.

Seriously, there's no way of telling what the movie focuses on or how good it's going to be based on a minute long trailer that shows virtually nothing. I'd like for it to not be another run-of-the-mill disaster flick, because there are far too many of those, and none of them are very good to begin with. Hopefully it will turn out better than it seems to be at this point.

Buuutttt....I FUCKING LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!
It's single-handedly my favorite remake of any movie, ever.
All the actors/actresses did a phenominal job, including even Sara Paxton
The deaths were entertaining and brutal, though a little over the top, but I still loved them
The rape made me look away for a second, twas a believable scene I thought

Yeah, yeah I remember. You were the one that aroused my interest in it mate. Cheers. I'm a big horror fan and I can usually spot as horror movie that looks quality and that one looked dope. I'll give you a review some time.

2012 looks shit. like a mixture between independence day and day after tomorrow which were both 'only alright'. way to do something new mr-director-who-i-forget-your-name-because-you-make-forgettable-fucking-movies. effects look shit.

oh yeah its horrible in the sense that its acted terribly and has a horrible plot..

but dude - the whole fucking world gets destroyed and it looks fucking spectacular. woody harrelson gets slammed by fucking volcano ejecta - unmissable shits and gigs.

Haha, thought as much. Man I'd rather watch an indie version of 2012, one that relies on a solid plot rather than eye candy, like Darren Aranofskys Pi. I've seen this dudes other work. It's not too shabby but certainly nothing special. The Day After Tomorrow wasn't too bad.
