| I like this album much more than NWO, maybe because I didn't expect it to be that good. It's awesome! There are like 6-7 tracks that are likely to become my new Hed favorites.
I also like the fact that Jared sings in Portugese, it sounds really cool and different from the rest of the music. However, in comparison with NWO this album is much more consistent in terms of style, which is also a good thing. Finally they are rapping over guitar riffs not just the beat.

Moreover, some people are so blind that they even make excuses for scandals such as pedophile priests and that is horrible.
Those are definitely the "sheeple" that Jared criticises, the stubborn, close-minded, aggressive ones.
I don't think he hates all religious people, probably only the kinds I mentioned, at least that's how I understand it. This i agree with : )

| agreed also. i mean it one thing if you wanna carry on a conversation about religon. and what not. but its another thing when your yelling and throbbing to push it on me. i will sit there and listen and have respect for your thoughts. and i would expect that they would do the same . and also its different when they bang at your door or drop peices of paper off at your house. that shit pisses me off. and those are the people that have nothing but disrespect if your not on there side! | |

| Listened to it once so far, and I really enjoyed it. Easily their best post-Jive album. It's a lot heavier and more musical than most of what they've done in the past 6 years. Forward Go and Children of the Fall are some of their best tracks in years. Takeover is kind of awful and Murder isn't too much better, and a couple of others are middling, but most of it is really solid and enjoyable. The band did a great job with this one. | |

| This one is just WOW!!! I mean it"s more metal (what I like), I love the solos on songs, I didn"t expect anything, but I was totally surprised in a positive way of course, maybe just a song with Lajon left me a little indifferent....
Best album of 2010, no doubt! \m/

| Nobody has any comments on the sound? I would have liked the guitars more upfront and more powerful. To me they sound kinda like in the background most of the time. | |

| I like the sound and the guitar solos are awesome.
I'm still listening to the album and I have already chosen my favorite tracks: Judgement Day, Menina, Forward Go, Children of the Fall, Murder and Stand Up.
I really don't know why you guys are so dissappointed with Stand Up, I think it's a really cool song. But I must admit I have never listened to Sevendust so I had no expectations about it.
I must also say that, even though Murder reminds me of Mirrorballin, it is a very good track, much more interesting.
And I love the way the Portugese lyrics sound, even though I don't understand them (I'm gonna check it sometime, now I only know that menina is girl). Hope Jared will write some more songs in Portugese on next Hed albums...

| So, right now I have been unemployed for almost 17 months. I am living with my sister and my 3 yr. old nephew. I got my CD album on the 25th. Since then I have spent well over 5 hours in my car sitting at a local park, laying back relaxing and listening to (hed). My sister won't let me listen to it in the house at the level I feel to be nessasary.
This CD in my hed opinion is a very solid album. Yeah, they have intros and stuff like that but if you don't like it, burn your self a copy of the album with out all the into/outro stuff. Some of the songs I get lost in, I zone out and I get into the instrumentals they have in a lot more songs than usual. Then it busts back into some heavy punk rock jive and it breaks me loose again. It literally gave me goose bumps on occasion. For instance, Menina takes a mid song break to bring you somewhere dark. Once you fall into it, it breaks back into Menina and I picture Jah up on stage bobbing his hips back and fourth as he is known to do on the more upbeat fast hip hop puck songs. Me-Ni-Na
Forward Go was the first song that really stood out to me. It is like a fable unicore in (hed)s more recent work. I hear it but I con't believe it's coming from (hed) in a great way!
I like the porno rock songs, it's a little taste of (hed) but not over doing it.
The whole (hed) crew seems to be hitting stride and finding their way again which is a good thing to feel again.

Thats exactly how i feel. The guitars should have been mixed better. The production of the guitars ain't bad but they need to be more prominent in the mix. Also Trauma's tom's could have been better produced. Its cool that he does a lot of fills with his toms and whatnot, but they are missing that ummphh.

Really? Well to each his own, but I think Insomnia is by far their worst album right next to OIA. It has its moments, but some tracks and the production is just dreadful. I agree with you though that they are recycling their ideas and lyrical themes a little to often though. I would like it if Jahred would expand his lyrical themes. The only subjects he seems to use are political and sex based themes and I think its about time he wrote about something else.

| the lyrics suck on this album... not all the time, but most of the time.
Some years ago Jared could really rap!!! Good lyrics with a tight flow. What do we have on this album? Does anyone remember Darky, or Soitbe, ar Daze or War? Those lyrics would be a standout on a rap album! And then i hear Takeover, and other rap induced songs on this record... and it makes me sad. Hed PE used to stand out of the rap and metal mixing bands because they had a great MC (who also sang and roared great too). This component of the band is COMPLETELY gone on this album. And it was one of the reasons i liket the band.
I don't dismis the whole album, but the lyrical and hip hop side of it is the weakest i think.
Remember the song "33"???

| this has been on non stop rotation on my phone (on the way to work) and at home on itunes. stand out tracks imo are; it's all over, no rest, stand up, forward go, children of the fall. still massive props to; this fire, it's alright and definitely judgment day and the love you show on skullnbones. i also don't get the complaints about 'stand up' - i'm loving lajon and jah singing over one another
i love how they've kept bridges in songs and allowed jaxon and product to experiment and fuck around a little. jaxon in particular has done an amazing job with some excellent riffs and solo work.
this is some of the best vocal work iv'e heard from jah in some time as well - he seems to be broadening his range and reminding us that he can pull off solid reggae, soul and metal shit. he also seems to have refined the screaming/yelling and as a result his lyrics are more clear and give the listener something to latch onto. he has done a terrific job here.
i can't finish without giving props to the rhythm section as well. trauma and mawk have glued this shit up tight. nice heavy head bobbing shit.
EDIT: wait i guess it's not perfect: i should add that i deleted all of the filler on this album (intros etc.) because that stuff always gives me the shits and as a result it tightens up nicely.. im definitely not as big a fan of menina as everyone seems to be - the chorus is extremely boring to me and the columbian seems slightly a gimmick - hiding mirrorballin lyrics underneath another language doesn't necessarily make them better, haha. anyway a few filler tracks don't take away from the sum of the great stuff to me.

first of all sorry for repeat post. i definitely agree that the hip-hop focused tracks are weakest here, but for the first time i'm not really that sorry to see the hip-hop part of them pushed back. i think the albums strength is in how fucking great the metal/punk stuff is. i think the lyrics ARE surely lacking in murder and takeover (sex shit). i'm loving the lyrics on the rest of the album though - it may still focus on the truth movement and politics and stuff but not to the point that a new listener couldn't take the lyrics in their own way - THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. see because we are so used to him singing about this topic we know exactly to what he's referring to before we even hear a word. try to listen to the album from an ignorant perspective regarding politics etc. and you'll notice that the songwriting is a lot more subtle than say - NWO or insomnia.
