| Any news? Have anyone heard something? When will it be released? 2009? 2010?
What are your expectations/hopes for the next album?

| I have a feeling it will be released in April of next year and it will sway towards more of a hip hop vibe. | |

| Improved lyrics DJ scratching A better variety of topics. A song that sounds like it belongs on s/t. Songs that are about one or a few alike subjects. Instead of random ones thrown around. No kmk or Big B | |

actually, i'd think itd be heavier...they are just now starting to tour with more heavy artists; maybe that might influence them? i dont know. either way is fine with me, they do both hip hop and heavy shit great.

| yea, didnt think i d ever say this but i d prefer more hiphop/reggae/dub on the next album , even if its just to get rid of some of the over the top hardcore screaming.
wud like some clever lyrics about life, philosophy, love and stuff. maybe politics but please smarter this time around and LESS about NWO/evil bush and the lizard people.
oh and how about some good artwork for a change?

| Oh yes, I'de definitely want to hear Product scratching, I really miss it.
And a better artwork would be cool, I liked the front of NWO but the rest was crap, the font type/size/color is so horrible I can hardly read song names & lyrics.
I like The DIY Guys artwork much more and even Insomnia booklet has a cool font that suits the front cover & makes the lyrics readable.
Oh, and no Subnoize collabs, pleeease...

Word! (hed)p.e., please, hire a good designer who a least knows some typography basics! BTW, I personally miss those “Dj Product Thanks ...”, “Jahred Thanks ...” etc, it was kinda cool. - WTD* wrote:

oh and how about some good artwork for a change? Yeeeahh man! Give us more intelligent lyrics (I know that stuff like “i just wanna rape you” will always be, but you know...). - WTD* wrote:

Artwork looks cheap, I agree. And, collabos with KMK are just shameful...

That's what I was thinking. Now that they're somewhat back in the spotlight again, playing big festivals and touring with good bands, that they might start getting a little heavier and get those creative juices flowing. NWO was already heavier than Insomnia and B2BX combined. I want that old (hed) groove back more than anything. I'd like to hear more rapping in the heavier songs than just screaming. Maybe on a song or two or on parts of songs, but the old albums did perfectly fine without it. I'd like more melody, too. I think most of what everyone would like to see has been mentioned. Better lyrics, wider variety of topics that doesn't include more stupid shit, a more active DJ Product (he doesn't do shit anymore as far as music goes), and for the love of God, no more fucking Subnoize collaborations, unless it's that Mower one that was rumored for the last album.

| (hed) will have a bigger budget for the next album no doubt, due to the success of NWO, mainly due to them actually getting back on some Rock radio sations with Renegade.
Lets not go through the motions here, think about it since like 2006 we have been waiting for albums and gone through the "songs like they were of S/T" or "More scratching by product", "better lyrics" etc. Yes they are on the wishlist, but can you really see them happening? If so then thats cool and I hope for some good discussion. But if not then lets just nto go there.
I completely agree with WTD, I have been sure in my mind since B2BX that the current (hed) outfit suits more "hiphop/reggae/dub" than Metal, and I sure would like the constant screaming and shrill voice to be faded out.
Looking logically at the albums since OIA the production quality has been quite poor, even on NWO. Hopefully the budget will be increased and it may not have to be done on Jah's laptop. Because the songwriting has been overall very good, it is just a shame it is let down by a poor prouction process.

| Lozz you're fukkin right, sound quality sux balls.
correct me if i'm wrong but i think Broke was masterized in Sterling Studios, which is one of the most expensive places to have the mastering done. that's the main reason for it's powerful sound.
obviously they won't be able to afford that nowadays.. but puttin the recording process, mixing and mastering in proffesional hands will always work better and make the album sound MUCH MUCH better.
i'm sure they could do it, specially in the States where there are plenty of studios where u can record a more than decent album without spending too much.

| Good point Madmadman.
I guess I'm hoping for really heavy shit with some hardcore rap with a bit of reggae and dub sprinkled in there. Less on politics and more on partying and just having fun, you know Crazy Legs lyrical content. Maybe some really personal shit thrown in too, inner demons or something like that. I'm dreaming I know.
No collabs.
I've never had a beef with the production quality on N.W.O. I personally thought it sounded great. I can hear that the production quality is quite weak on Insomnia. Maybe my ears just aren't trained enough for that shit.
More Product.
Less screaming, more rap coupled with heavy guitars.
Reggae.
Funky bass lines.
Immature lyrics. (I got to admit, I absolutely love the 'SHUT UP BITCH BEFORE I RAPE YOU' stuff.
One or two experimental songs (Self Aware) would be dope too!

I thought Subnoize records had a big fucking studio which they can use. But hearing NWO i don't think they can, cause yes the sound quality sucks balls. Also maybe it´s good for them to get a producer instead of letting Jahred do all the producing.

| The whole album was made on Jarhed's laptop. Thats all I know. My point was that because NWO was much more of a success in terms of sales and radio airplay, they should have a larger budget this time round.
In theory they could hire some production team for mixing and mastering, however in reality subnoize have probably spent the money made from NWO on giving KMK the best deal. Unfortunately (hed) are a much bigger deal, but they can't seem to realise this....

When I saw the stuff that went along with The Green Album and then the deal thay prepared for NWO I was really disappointed. It's not that I don't like the poster & the EP but I'd like to get some more cool stuff as well. The same when I look at all KMK gear and stuff, damn I wish they made a female Hed hoodie as well. And a baseball cap, I really wanted the "HED planet earth" logo one but it has dissappeared before they introduced international orders.

| yea production values are an issue but i wouldnt kill myself over it, if the quality of the lyrics and instrumental elements hold up at least. would never want em to force themselves towards a certain style/genre of course but yea they should keep evolving.
reggae/dub/hiphop influences would be great. i could so see DJ bringing in some sick samples, snips from movies again , stuff like that. its soo much the time right now. everyone is djing, remixing things. hed could blow all tht up and take it in. make some real sick infused genre shifting music.
i wanna say tht its true tht the fact they are tourin with heavy bands atm could influence them as well - good point. if they do it right they could also turn tht into something really interesting. they just gotta make sure they rnt goin on producin more and more renegade, screamy kinda tracks.
artwork could be so great. again, DJ could do much more here, his graffiti stuff could be integrated or just some gd artists involved.

| i dont hate the screamming, in fact, i love it, no problem there, but i would love to see more reggae/dub/dancehall/reggaeton next time around, they can really pull it off if they try, and they dont even have to drop the heavy shit.
i love heavy shit, bloodfire fucking rules, is something hed hadnt done before and they fucking rocked it!
