they still play shows, no? But i think i know what you mean - the last couple of albums have shown no signs on life... except a couple of songs in the last 3 albums (i actuali liked none on Truth Rising...).
They need some kind of change in their creative process, or something. But that is just my opinion. I liked Hed in the first place because they always brought something new to the table, but it's been a while
I think the reason behind this is Westyle's departure. Jaxon is a very good player, but i don't find his riffs new or exciting. Coupled with bad production, they have lost their sound, IMO. And Jared... he's a good rapper, singer, screamer, but somehow it seems just doesen't try anymore.

Nah i completly disagree! I think their problem though is they work too much. Its like being on an indepedent label you have to work like a slave. They tour so much they cant prolly write new material. They cant even seem to rehearse the new songs so they keep playing the same songs for like a decade!
The bad production can sometimes be annoying though. But LIVE they fucking rule man!!!!

I kind of agree about Jaxons guitar playing but I think (hed) are far from dead. I dig plenty of their new tunes. There is more filler than there used to be though. I think they only have one album left in them.

Here's the deal with hed pe. Jackson is a good player, but he's riffs aren't complex like were writting math metal, or thrash. Hed pe wants to be that new punk band they look after. example Black Flag, Suicidal tendencies. Idk how much any of you are into music, but punk and hardcore i mean it requires skill to play, but its not the most musically complicated stuff to play, granted they have a few solo's here and there. I don't think they're dying, I see them going on and playing a different style of music for atleast another 5 years. Mark my words, I'll tell you this, this hip hop element of Hed pe will die. This band wll still have some elements of reggae, but I see them trying more and more punk metal. we've already heard it on "truth rising", and on "Nwo".

Well, yeah, they'll definitely release an album in 2012, but I think it's gonna be their last one. I just hope it will be well produced.

I don't really think that they are dead as a band. My problem with hed (or should i say jahred) nowadays is all their political conspiracies-lizard people living among us-planet crossings bullshit. Leaders of a truth movement that has no truth to it. Not saying they should be more like RATM, just saying, if they are so passionate about what they stand for as a band, or as jah claims he is from all his facebook posts they should do more stuff like this:
or
But all in all i still like hed's music, and i would still go watch them play live.

I don't think their dead, I think they're doing fine. At least, I HOPE they're doing fine..
Because we have no word at all on a new album, DIY Guys pt2 or compensation for the cancelled EU tour.
Instead, the latest posts concern another crappy subnoize artist and something along the lines of the Mayan calender in Washington DC...
Normally, I remember Jahred already prepping us for an upcoming release in interviews. But if they're doing anything new now, they really are doing a good job on keeping their mouths shut.
Maybe that's why a lot of you guys think they're dead/inactive/hiatus whatever.. there has been little news we care about...
Prolly will shift into the next gear once they announce a new record and tour etc. etc.

...hope not! In addition to everything that was said here, at least they are constant... and they recorded some good albums, including the last one. And this gives me hope for another one or two:)

I think the next album will be absolutely fucking amazing! : ) I dunno why i just have a good feeling. I am really excited about what kind of sound the next album will have since each album sounds pretty diffferent! Thats also a good thing bout hed, they never sound the same!
Maybe it will have some reggae feel since Jah recent interest in reggae! Im hoping for some heavy stuff mixed with hardcore hip hop though. Hoping they will tone down the dirty raw punk stuff a little. But whatever they do though im sure i'll end up diggin it!

Yeah agreed MADMANNe, but to be very honest I hardly listen to the newer stuff nowadays. I need to be in *that* vibe to actually listen to it.
And as for Truth Rising and NWO, I listened to them both constant in the first few weeks, but after a while I kinda got dull with it.
You know, you get saturated, it's enough. It's not at all what Broke, Blackout and B2BX did to me.
Also when I compare Truth Rising with NWO I reckon Truth Rising is bit louder and different riffs but it's almost the same thing.
So maybe it's a good thing that we have no word on a record, maybe they're taking their time to actually give us something mind blowing for change..
I for one am not interested in another record in the line off Truth Rising and NWO or even Insomnia. Shit gets old fast, need some new vibes!

Jah has always had an interest in reggae. You can hear it on all of their albums...but I do hear you MM. He wants to incorporate more reggae dance-hall for the following release. And yes they are always writing. They've been writing new material since January. I think Truth Rising got a little stale fast. NWO was pretty good, just too much filler. But yeah, I mean the latest releases (post B2BX) have nothing on their prior releases. Sometimes I kid myself into thinking that the new stuff is almost as good until I put on one of their golden oldies like Broke and I just think to myself...wtf was I thinking you know?

You must be one of the few who dont like broke SRH! Self titled used to be my favorite but i actually got kind of bored with that album.
I think some of the new stuff is up to par with the old stuff, atleast certain songs like This Fire from Truth Rising. Hardcore song!!! : )

I must agree with Srh to some extend, I got bored of Broke and Blackout and don't listen to them at all. Broke used to be my favorite Hed album but later I turned more towards their harder records, I still like Truth Rising and OIA very much.
I'd love to hear some more stuff like OIA, mix of hardcore and rap. And some reggae as well, it'd be great if they did a studio version of some Bob Marley cover.
But it seems that Jared is too focused on his truth movement bs, just read the stuff he posts on hed fb, the only posts concerning music are the ones promoting other subnoize releases. As if they weren't doing any music at all

Yeah, Blackout definitely is too "radio friendly" which makes it boring.
As a metal fan I prefer harder stuff. There isn't much hiphop either, so it's not really my style. I'm glad they're not coming back to it.

I mean, I like some hip hop. like NWA, game, a few jeezy songs, etc. but, I dont think jahred has good flows, I don't look at hed pe as a band like that. I look at them as a punk band who plays some metal, and dub/reggae. Hey, I have a question for the people who post on here that are from Europe. Does the language for this site show up in another languages(polish.Swedish, German, Russian), and do you know how to speak/read english?
