PostSubject: Hedpeonline Interview Down Under   Sat Nov 20, 2010 1:29 am

So I was thinking...

Being a filmmaker and all, I have some pretty dope camera/audio equipment.

As some of you are aware (hed) planet earth are hitting Australian shores and on the 29th of January aaaaand (fingers crossed) they will be hitting my home town of Melbourne.

I'm sure someone on this forum has Jahreds email/contact details...

I was hoping to conduct an interview with Jahred or some other band members on behalf of this awesome community at hedpeonline.

I'm kind of tired of seeing interviews from Juggalos/radio jockeys/and people that just don't seem to know too much about the band or band history.

I know the guys at the Corner Hotel (the venue they are playing at) pretty well and I'm sure I could pull some strings to make this happen provided I get the Ok from (hed)

I don't see why they wouldn't...

Anyways if any of you guys/girls were interested in this idea I'd be happy to follow it through.

An interview on behalf of hedpeonline with questions from US.

The true fans who know them like no other.

If you have any burning questions that you would like asked just send them off right here and if it's mature, well thought through and significant then you can bet your ass it will be asked.

I want to ask some controversial questions as well...Like Jahred's time spent with LUST.

Anyways I'm getting ahead of myself...

I'm not sure how you guys will take to this idea but I think this has to happen.

Much love.

Gimme the questions you really want asked Lummel? Same as you Madman, Hed, Loz, Shake, Crip, anonymous, catarax, sinister, lost soul, zombie, gabe, kirby and anyone I was too stoned to think of at this present time. The burning ones. No matter how rude, full on, or interesting.

I love this idea, seeing how no one who interviews (hed) is anyone I like lol.

You should ask if they ever look online at comments on different sites regarding things they may want to work on with their music (like in do they take criticism found online and try to work to make that aspect better)

They probably dont, because Jahred seems like he is going to do what he wants to do...but itd still be cool to ask.

I think it would be awesome to ask about LUST, but I say be careful...I wonder how Jahred would take that LOL, no one has the balls to ask him questions like that, I have faith in you Razz

You should ask him if songs that never made previous albums made current albums in some form...or if they even still have some of those old songs (Like that other version of Sundown...the "heavy version".) And how they feel about songs like that, like Sundown and Buzzkill.

Lol I'll try to think of more. This is a really good idea.

nice idea. i would wait with the l.u.s.t. question to the end of the interview, so if he gets so pissed that he doesn't want to talk anymore at least you have the other questions answered.

it would be cool to hear an interview with mawk or product or maybe the two of them together separate from jahred.

maybe ask product about the church voluntary stuff he's doing and how his personal beliefs correspond with jahred's/ the bands view of religion outwards to the audience.

i also wonder about the song bad news. it sounds like they've been inspired by SOAD, but it also sounds very Blackout. is the song partly unused blackout-material?

l.u.s.t question: some of the lyrics and vocals from s/t resemble the l.u.s.t stuff. although (hed) was a new project, how much did they take with them from the l.u.s.t. material. and in what way has l.u.s.t. inspired or been a part of forming what became (hed). would (hed) have been (hed) without l.u.s.t?

how has the whole juggalo-thing affected the band. what do they think of joining an image to relate to fans on the new label. they're about being real and being them selves, but isn't changing image to attract audience what selling out is about?

(hed) has a whole new following and are touring with different band s now than they used to before (more rock and metal). how is the band's relations to the bands they used to tour with, and why (aside from the subnoize roster) are they not touring with the likes of these bands anymore?

it would also be interesting to hear something about the never-changing setlists: how they feel about making new music, getting it out there but rarely playing the stuff live. (it's a little more understandable when they were changing drummer all the time and they had learn the old songs, but it seems that trauma fits much better with the group than the previous drummers and that he's a keeper.) How often do they play songs like Tienenman Squared, Beware do we go, P.O.S, Ground, The Box, Carnivale and so on..

Isn't all the new material made to play live? If so, that kind of crashes with the albums not being filled up with "album fillers".

There have been a lot of changes in the bands line-up affecting the music and you have are dipping into quite a few genres, but a (hed)song always sounds like a (hed)song. is this something you work to make happen or does it just happen by itself? are there any songs you have made and then scratched because they didn't end up having the (hed)vibe?

It seems that you still have a pretty good tone with Ken (the finger) Sachs, who played with you guys back in the C.O.R. days. Does he ever join you on stage for some of the old tunes? If not, would it be a possibility?

You often talk about the major days as if the songs were just about partying and that the songs lacked depth. How do you feel that this description fits with songs like Hill and The Meadow?

I would want to know about how he feels that everybody is able to hear the LUST songs now and if he would mind if they were released.
And also why they don't change the setlist that much, if I were in a band I would get bored with playing the same songs every night so I would want to switch it up a lot and at least play a lot of new songs each tour.
Also there must be outtakes & demo's from the albums, is there a plan to release any of those songs?

Also ask Jahred the really important questions like what is his favorite food, and what color underwear he wears, and also ask if he likes his food touching each other on the dinner plate.

Lmao I'm jk but you should ask him one of those questions just to be funny.

I like the unreleased demos/outtakes question though.

Haha Madman.

Yeah I'm really digging these questions.

Love it.

Keep them coming if you have any more guys.

Who can help me to get in touch with one of the band members so I can set this joint up?

x

Ask them about the demos, why don't they re-record and release them? Especially the OIA stuff and songs like Hangman, before the Jive albums.

I'd like to know what is the role of Product in the band now and why he doesn't do his scratching any more? And why don't they use his art as album artworks? The ones he has made so far are awesome!

Also, like someone here wrote, how is the rest of the band feeling about Jared's beleifs, the truth movement, etc?

I also think that it might be interesting to ask about Jared's tats, what inspired them etc. There was a topic about them here so I guess there are some people interesten in it.

I might have repeated the questions written before but that's all that came to my mind now, hope you'll find it useful.

If you are gonna try to interview every band member, I'd ask everyone except Jahred how they feel that Jahred calls (hed) p.e. HIS band and a lot of the time recognizes the music as his, and not theirs...I dont know how you would word that so that it doesnt sound mean.

I wanna ask if they are really into the juggalos cuz it seems they kinda think the juggalo kids are dorks when u hear some comments by the band and shit. But ofcourse we can never get a straight honest answer to a question like that anyway.

I really dont care but its a shame they get dissed by association. But then again they like being the underdog so!

You know what you should do? You should ask them to do a recording of Garden Grove! Cuz they do that track fucking awesome! Luv the lil more hardcore vocals on soem of the vocals by Jahred there! Either a good live recording or a studio recording! Thatd be great!

In relation to what MADMANNe said, another recorded cover would be that POLICE song, Every Breath You Take. They did a recording of it, they even said they did....you should ask if that will ever see the light of day.

Yeah cool so I've compiled a list of your questions. Please let me know if you have any more. I'm sure they'll pop up when you least expect it...What is the best way to get in contact with the band??? Preferably with Jahred as he tends to speak on their behalf. If someone could PM me with details that'd be muchos appreciatos. Before I send off the mail (the one pertaining to setting up the interview when they hit the Corner Hotel in Melbourne) to (hed) I'll double check with the community to see if it sounds mint. Good! Good? And let me stress that any advice would be helpful. If someone has direct contact with some of these doods...and I know some of you do...please hook a brother up with some details. If you don't want to give away their email or whatever that's cool I can get you to post my message. Anyways let a bro know. I need you guys on this. Cheers! Matt.

Hm I left a message on their Oz Down Under status update and got a reply from one Zion Jones saying that an interview is not a problem. I'm assuming that was Jahred because his son is in the display pic??? Can anyone confirm this?
